Chris Burton
Chris is an energetic, positive and results oriented coach, stimulating leaders and teams to increase their performance level, by building on their strengths and developing their range of skills. He currently works with many businesses across a wide range of sectors, as well as in the NHS, education and sport. He builds empathy quickly, while being prepared to challenge the leaders and teams he works with to step outside their comfort zone in order to achieve lasting transformational change.
Chris worked at senior Board level with Mars, as European Sales Director and Managing Director in the Mars businesses in Ireland, Taiwan and in South Korea. The earlier roles in his career were in Sales & Marketing.
Chris is involved in ongoing research into the characteristics of High Performing Teams, in business, sport and many other areas. This helps him to inspire and challenge the teams he works with, to help them to perform at their peak.
Chris graduated from Oxford University with an MA in Chemistry. In addition to a Masters in Coaching & Development, Chris holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching Supervision, qualifying him to support the development of other coaches. He is a member of the EMCC.
Married with four children, Chris now lives near Oxford, having lived in Dublin and Taipei over the last 15 years. He has always had a passion for cycling, and cycled a tandem bicycle around the world after leaving university. He is currently training to cycle 1,000 miles from Dover to Cape Wrath. He has a strong interest in all sports, and his family report a mild obsession with the All Blacks! He is the Chair of Trustees of Reading Quest, a charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged children get to grips with reading and writing.
